Charity Update April 2019
The second ‘pupil choice’ charity non-uniform day was held on the last day of the spring half term, when students were challenged to come to school in as much denim as possible.
King Edward VI Joint School Council
On Thursday 11th April, the year group chairs of each School Council attended the Spring School Council conference, which was held at Five Ways School.
Lessons from Auschwitz Project 2019
Each year the History department arranges for two Y12 girls to take part in the government-funded Lessons from Auschwitz Project, organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust.
The Spring Term and the start of the Summer Term has been a busy time for the Music Department preparing for concerts and AB Board Instrumental Music examinations.
On the 8th May, after winning the Birmingham schools round, we went to represent the school at the West Midlands final.
In the weeks preceding the crazy experiment Science Club was alight with excitement at the prospect of a new and interesting experiment.
We are delighted to announce the new team of Senior Prefects in the 6th Form. The two-month recruitment process for these roles is arduous, testing all aspects of the students’ abilities.
The Diana Award
We are proud to congratulate our Year 13 student, Sophia Badhan, on receiving the prestigious Diana Award for her work to raise awareness of mental health.
Year 10 Art
A HUGE well done to Year 10 artists who completed their first sustained Art examination this half term. What a fantastic range of outcomes!
Year 10 Oxford Trip
On Wednesday 15th May a party of Year 12 students travelled to Oxford for a day of activities to develop their applications to the university.
Year 13 Politics
Y13 politicians have concluded their studies with two significant events.
