The past week has been one of UCAS misadventures. Whilst the upper sixth has braced the most memorable of slip ups already, an unintended Welsh application and incorrect course code to name a few, this week has been the final push for those doing early applications. A stressful time which has seen countless teachers sift through personal statements it has not been entirely enjoyable but certainly memorable.
Our future doctors are now dissecting interview strategies and already some individuals have received offers! Of course there are still a lot of people to still send theirs off and so it seems UCAS will continue to grip the sixth form common room for a long time to come. Thankfully as a resilient bunch who are happy to bring in cake to ease university stress I can safely say that we should all make it through intact.
Some advice for future years; work together and even if you’re reading the fiftieth medicine personal statement – help out if someone asks, don’t compare your progress to everyone else and most importantly appreciate that this is an exciting step in life – make the most of it.
