Last week proved to be a mixture of hectic organisation and excitement for my last ever sports day at KEVIHS. My role involves me working with the House Captains and therefore I was, alongside my captains, involved heavily in the organisational aspect of Sports Day 2015 and helped to orchestrate the general running of it on the day. From ensuring we had house coloured face paints to runners for the 100m it was a fun filled day for all.
One of the exciting things about sports day as a sixth former is that you don’t partake in all of the usual activities – instead there are alternative events such as welly-wanging, the limbo, speed bounce and many other less traditional sporting forms. These are all thoroughly enjoyed by members of the sixth form and the sports day sixth form events are almost a rite of passage at KEVIHS with everyone partaking in them even if it is just for a bit of fun!
The weather held up really well on the day – no rain, yay! Instead, it happened to be very warm and sunny and the afternoon even featured a visit from the ice cream van. From observation, it was evident that pupils and staff alike were enjoying the general vibe of the afternoon and it had been a really successful sports day.
