This week has been a really busy and exciting week at Handsworth as it was Children in Need week. The week consisted of many events to raise money for Children in Need and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the week.
Monday was a great start to the week as many Year 13 students started receiving offers from universities of their choice and this continued throughout the week so it’s safe to say there’s been a lot of excitement in the common room this week (and a lot of screaming for that matter). On Tuesday, our form held a cake sale and managed to sell out of cakes (obviously, everyone loves cakes!). This was followed by “Wax the Male teacher” which I’m sure was just as painful as it sounds but it’s all for charity so it was definitely worth the pain. Year 12 students also celebrated their GCSE results at GCSE Awards Evening where they were able to celebrate with their friends and family…this week has been a week full of achievements for us all. If that isn’t enough action for the week, Year 13 students had to endure Parents’ Evening on Thursday after a long and tiring week that seemed to last forever! It all turned around on Friday, though, because end of Children in Need week means MISS KE! Practically the whole school had an amazing end to the week and we were able to appreciate everyone’s amazing talents; from singing to stand-up comedy! We also enjoyed some very imaginative costumes this week, including a pack of Crayola crayons (yes, you read that right!).
After a long week full of activities for us all, we are all eagerly waiting for responses from universities (I am sure that emails will be refreshed an uncountable number of times over the next few weeks!) and of course, we are all looking forward to Christmas as it gets closer and closer!
