Congratulations to A Level pupils at King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls! | Press Release
King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is very pleased to congratulate its pupils on a set of excellent examination results at A Level, with 70.9% being awarded A*-B and 40% being awarded top grades of A*-A. There are, of course, many fantastic performances with 30 of our pupils in Year 13 being awarded A*-A grades across 3 or more subjects. The results in the Extended Project Qualification were also impressive with 60% of the cohort attaining A*-A. Two girls have gained places at Oxford and Cambridge. Chrissie John achieved 4 A* and holds a place at The University of Cambridge to read Veterinary Medicine. Ellie Stanford holds a place at Oxford with 3 A*s and an A to study English. These headline figures only tell one side of the story, we know that so many of our pupils have worked with determination and effort, achieving results of which they should be proud. Headmistress Mrs Whittall said “We are proud of the girls and celebrate their success with them. The girls and teachers have worked incredibly hard during the year to achieve these results and have shown commitment and dedication throughout. We wish all the girls the best with their future studies and careers.”
We wish all of our pupils the very best for the future as they go on to top universities at home and abroad to study a wide range of subjects from Geology to Aeronautical Engineering. We look forward to welcoming them back in December for our Speech Night.
