Charity Update July 2019 | Newsletter

We have reached the end of our charity year with the annual Race for Life event in aid of Cancer Research UK, while the money is  still to be counted for a final result for the event and hence the year, it was a successful event.

Our new senior prefect team were assigned roles and set tasks by the charity senior prefects Aliza and Grace. The day began with a cake sale of donated cakes – thank you to any parents who assisted with this, we couldn’t do it without you.  Luckily the rain held off so we could set up the stalls in the playground and set the school on their route at lunchtime.

All of the school are expected to make their way round the course which was 4 laps of the running track, we usually have a wiggly pink line to follow, but with sports day schedules for the following day this could have led to all sorts of issues for the various track events with a random line crossing it repeatedly.

With a little bit of music and motivational suggestions from the sixth formers on the music desk we completed nearly 700 student miles over the lunchtime.

Totals for the event and the year will be revealed in September.
